The feeling of starting over is nothing new to me, but that does not mean I enjoyed the process. It can be overwhelming and uncomfortable.

The divorce procedure can take a toll not only on your financial situation, but also your emotional state and self- esteem.

Feelings of rejection, failure, anger and sadness can make even the strongest person weak. Mix that weakness with confusion, frustration and a sense of helplessness, and you’ve got a recipe for downward spiral cake. Let’s just say I’ve eaten enough of that to know my life’s purpose is to help others keep that cake off their menu.

I started my career in the Air Force at the prime age of 17. After a short two years, I learned enough to think I knew everything, so I got married. After 10 years of proving I didn’t know anything, I separated from the Air Force and my wife, leaving an unsatisfying career and beginning life as a part-time dad. I made mistakes and had small victories for the next 10 years as I tried to find my way as an American DJ living in England and working throughout Europe. I was learning that I still had unresolved guilt stemming from decisions I made in my 20s which rolled over into another failed attempt at marriage that began and ended in three short years. I came to the realization that if I didn’t get my act together, I’d die a lonely, unhappy old man. Thus, the journey to redeem myself began.

I hung up my headphones on a full-time basis and now only play music as a hobby. I have read the self-help books and taken part in several events designed to open life to amazing possibilities by looking inward and being authentic with myself and the world around me. I obtained a certificate from The Southwest Institute for Healing Arts in the field of life coaching. This training provided the tools and education that allow me to help others find balance and direction in the midst of turmoil.

A life coach isn’t a therapist or a counselor. In short, a therapist heals, a counselor instructs, and a coach creates. As a life coach, using special tools, I attempt to help you find out what you really want out of life so you can design a plan to get you there. While you are going through your divorce, we’ll try to unblock obstacles that keep you from making clear thought-out decisions that disrupt the process and bog it down. We’ll work on bringing your self esteem and positive thinking back into balance.

Sometimes just finding a new direction and a plan of action are all that stands between you and a happy new life.
